Kombucha Tea
Kombucha tea is a powerful and effective health drink that has been around since the Chinese Tsin Dynasty of 221 BC. The Zen masters declared Kombucha an important source of Chi and the Emperors in Manchuria thought it to be a sacred medicine that was often referred to as “The Elixir of long life”. In Japan warriors actually used it as an energy drink in battle. Kombucha tea was later spread throughout the world through trade routes in India, Russia, and Eastern Europe. Soon after it arrived in Germany, it was enjoyed throughout Europe until the beginning of World War II. The rationing of tea and sugar temporarily stopped production of Kombucha tea, but by the 1960’s the popularity of Kombucha tea started to gain again.

Kombucha tea is a drink that is fermented from sweet tea, and a Kombucha mushroom or culture. The Kombucha culture is blend of healthy bacteria, yeasts, and other micro-organisms that have been used for many health benefits.  Kombucha tea is surprisingly easy to make at home to make a sparkling drink that tastes similar to apple cider. When making the tea, the Kombucha mushroom digests most of the sugar and converts it into a strong amount of organic acids, as well as other enzymes. It also converts it into important vitamins such as Vitamins C, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and B15 and other minerals.

With all of these active ingredients it is no wonder that many people who drink Kombucha tea are thrilled with the results and benefits. Ailments and sicknesses such as low ‘T’ cell counts, arthritis, various symptoms of cancer, Candida, chronic fatigue syndrome, blood pressure problems, obesity, psoriasis, eczema, PMS, poor digestion, erratic bowel movements, and migraines have been shown to have significant improvements when taking Kombucha tea as part of your regular diet. The positive benefits of this tea have led to many people calling it the “miracle fungus”. The secret of the tea is not necessarily that it cures the illnesses, but how it boosts your body’s own system to help fight the ailments.

There are some precautions that should be taken into consideration with this tea though. If you are pregnant or nursing you should not continue a daily regimen of Kombucha tea.  Kombucha has been known to break the stasis and expel pathogens which are what a fetus is considered to be, so although there is no proof that Kombucha tea will cause a miscarriage, it is best to be cautious.  Since children under the age of 4 still have developing immune systems, the tea is not recommended because it may hinder that development. For adults Kombucha tea acts like a blood thinner, and in people with certain medical conditions it could lower their blood pressure and is not recommended for people who are on blood thinning medication or have hypotension.

With the detoxification process that Kombucha tea puts your body through, it makes you feel less sluggish and gives you more vitality. Kombucha tea brings a balance to your body and essentially your life, and therefore creates a beneficial environment for your body. The ability of this natural fungus to change your life is powerful, and it truly does make a difference when it comes to your health.
