The Biggest Exercise Mistakes!

Have you ever begun an exercise program and become frustrated that you aren’t losing weight or seeing any changes in your body physique? Perhaps you did see results for awhile, but after awhile, you stopped noticing significant changes. What’s going on? Are you just wasting your time in the gym?

Well, you get an E for effort because many people never even make it to the gym or begin an exercise program, but effort is not what you really want, right? You want an R for RESULTS. Let’s go over some of the biggest mistakes you can make with exercise that will produce little if any results.

Make sure you are challenging your muscles

 Never Changing it Up

You get into your routine and just keep performing the same exercise. Whether this is cardio, strength-training or any number of exercise routines, you need to push your body in order to continue seeing results.

If you’ve chosen to use a treadmill, and you’ve allotted 30 minutes each day, make sure you change up your speed, the inclination and the amount of time you spend at steady pace versus a fast pace.

In the weight room, make sure you are challenging your muscles. Your muscles need adequate load and resistance in order to continue enlarging or toning. Women often worry that they will build too much bulk, but female body builders can tell you differently!

It takes them massive amounts of exercise hours and special diets in order to gain those award-winning large muscles! Increase the weight, not the reps or you’ll find yourself spending way too much time doing very little.

Forgetting ALL the Important Components

Make certain you allow time for all areas of fitness: cardio, strength, balance, flexibility!

You need to perform fat-burning activities, strength or resistance training, balance such as yoga and stretching for flexibility if you want to continue seeing results and perfect your body. This is also an important aspect of staying injury free and avoiding undue wear and tear.

The more endurance you have, the better you will be with strength-training. The more flexible and balanced you are, the less likely you are to suffer a tear, sprain or strain. It all goes hand in hand so make certain you take the time to stretch before and after you workout and vary up your routine to incorporate all aspects of fitness.

Trying to Lose Weight TOO Fast

Here’s probably the biggest mistake: forgetting to eat and support your body nutritionally. We all want to lose weight quickly, but starving yourself and exercising will help you lose LEAN body mass rather than the FAT that you really want to burn.

So, take it slowly and make sure you eat a well-balanced diet loaded in vegetables, fruit, lean protein, good fats and whole grains to support your exercise routine and build the body of your dreams!
